When you wake up in the morning to go to school or to your office, do you generally feel

There are so many factors that can cause fatigue and a lack of quality sleep is definitely
one of them. But, research has proven that there is actually one major contributing
factor to fatigue and that is improper nutrition.
Some studies have shown that people who eat copious amounts of unhealthy foods will
lead to overweight or even obesity and it is these conditions that can contribute to
general feelings of tiredness.
That is because as you gain more pounds (more than you should), your body spends
more energy just for you to be able to function normally.
Aside from that, the unhealthy foods that most people are eating nowadays can also
contribute to a whole host of medical conditions that could potentially lead to fatigue,
including diabetes, hypertension, and even insomnia.
According to a study, children who have unhealthy eating habits, especially those who
consume large amounts of salty foods are more likely to feel fatigued throughout the
rest of the day. A combination of high HDL cholesterol and sodium levels may lead to
hypertension and heart disease, respectively.
We have all believed in the notion that we are what we eat but unfortunately, we
actually do not eat the right kinds of food. If anything, we reach for the unhealthiest food
options and call it a day.
We have to remember that the act of eating is basically just helping us provide our
bodies with the fuel it needs to move about.
A combination of proper sleep, taking the best supplements, and proper nutrition can all
help people get back on track.
Eating Habits That You Should Eliminate
1. Eating the Wrong Kinds of Food
We should be feeding our bodies with all of the macro and micronutrients. This means
that we should eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats from
fatty fish, nuts, etc.
However, we rarely follow this principle as we opt for fast foods or foods that are calorie-
rich but are devoid of any useful nutrients. If anything, they contain way too much salt or
sugar which can lead to health problems down the road.
2. Skipping Meals
Millennials and young adults are notorious for skipping breakfast, which is arguably the
most important meal of the day. Skipping meals is a huge no-no since what you eat
during breakfast will dictate your energy levels throughout the day.
If you are pressed for time, you can easily prepare a sandwich or something healthy the
night before so that you can just heat it up in the morning.
3. Not Varying the Foods that You Eat
There is a reason why people rely solely on supplements to get the nutrients that their
bodies need and that is because they usually do not vary the foods that they eat.
Variation is key if you want to get the entire spectrum of nutrients that your body needs
naturally. Make sure that you eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and some
carbs and fats from different (healthy) sources as well.
